November 20th will forever be known for its horrifying Twitard encounters. For on this day, the second of the movies, "New Moon", premiered in theaters. I went to work, expecting to hear something, see a shirt, or a bag and be able to ignore it but this.. this was in its own category. Far more "WHAT." than being hit on constantly by old Italian men. Or having some teenage AND young boys call you beautiful/declare their love for you. ... yeah, thats right. "What."
It was around 8:00pm when I spotted a girl walk into the grocery store with her father and younger brother. She had on black tights, black short skirt, boots, and a T-shirt with shit written all over it. The front had "TEAM EDWARD" written on it, with hearts everywhere. The back had some quote I didn't waste my time reading, by Jacob. (I still don't understand it, but okay.) She passed by the counter a few times, and I ignored her and her shitty home made shirt.
However, at around 8:20pm she came up to my counter and started to look at the cupcakes. She than looked up, made a face, and went "Where are the Twilight cupcakes?". "I'm sorry?", I only asked because I couldn't believe that but I disguised it as not hearing her. "The ''Team Edward" and "Team Jacob" cupcakes. Why don't you have any.". Her voice was stern. I had no idea how to respond to that, I was still in shock from her stupidity. So instead she continued "you know how big the New Moon premier is! It came out today! EVVVVERYONE knows that!". I went "yeah, so?". "SO?! Why don't you have cupcakes for it??". "Because we don't do that kind of thing?". She started to raise her voice "Liar! You do it for football! Twilight is waaay better than football! Football sucks..". ( We do it during Super Bowl and big games and stuff so that way more grownups will buy cupcakes. We do it for Holidays too. "Twilight" doesn't fall under EITHER category.). I was like "Hold on, are you serious?", she went "Duhhh. Twilight is the best thing ever. Everyone loves Twilight." or something to that extent if immaturity. I bust out laughing, there was no way, this HAD to be a joke. Unfortunately it wasn't. I went "well.. I don't like Twilight, sorry?". She went "WHAT!? Whats wrong with you! Than you clearly have never read the books or watched the movies or anything!". I rolled my eyes and continued to work. She continued to rant, starting to get teary.. her face was starting to turn pink. This girl went on and on about how I had no class, horrible taste, and had no idea what real beauty and romance was. .... I was amused, yet horrified. She even told me that I didn't know anything about vampires, or werewolves, etc. Idk, the entire situation was just.. funny in its own way.
Her little brother saw the situation and ran off. I guessed it was to get their dad, because I saw him coming over. I told her "look, you have your opinion, I have mine.", "your opinion SUCKS." she spat back at me. I responded with "Twilight ISN'T real, you know". That made her SNAP, luckily by that time her father grabbed her arm and was dragging her away. He looked up at me and went "I am so sorry.". He than looked down at her all "Sweetie. Its not that big a deal, calm down. Come on.". She was all "IT IS SO! IT IS SO!"....

......In conclusion. I'm still in shock, but I'm also horrified and strangely amused. I'm losing a little more faith in humanity thanks to Twilight, in a strange way. The only thing I can seriously think about the situation is "what the fuck.". Also, I'm realllllyyy sick of "vampires".
